How did ex- Fàshiön music front man Luke Skyscraper’s new band THE GHOST OF LUKE JAMES come into being? It’s a LONG story, a long ghost story!
When Eric S. Anderson was a teenager in WI in 1979 he bought a copy of Product Perfect by Fàshiön music. It inspired him to learn to play bass guitar. Eric played in a number of bands and then pursued a career running Pachyderm Studios – where Nirvana recorded In Utero, Soul Asylum recorded Grave Dancers Union, and a host of other name bands recorded in the 90’s.
Eric turned his back on the music business (much as I did when I left Fàshiön music) and went to film school, ultimately winning two Emmys for his work on Dexter, and Six Feet Under.
During this time, for thirty-five years, he wondered whatever happened to Luke Skyscraper and the album that had so influenced him. Through social media Eric tracked me down and convinced me that we should start making music together.
Forty-one years after my first record, we have completed our second recording “Moment of Love Now!
I want to thank Eric for inspiring and making this recording happen. Eric played bass, keyboards, arranged and produced the songs that I wrote. Also, huge thanks to Iain Tempo (Shack) for drumming the heartbeat into this song! And ;Mark Walk (OGHR), gave invaluable input that helped the direction of this song.)
It's a love song with a great message. It's a personal song that happens to shine a light on a lot of what's happening lately. It is a love song – but LOVE applies not just to one individual but to ALL of us. It’s our best, maybe ONLY hope. You heard it from a ghost!
lyrics
The past is not present, and far from correct
This precious moment is where we connect
The past is not present, the futures not near
Only this precious moment is perfectly clear
And there is nothing that I wouldn’t do just to spend an hour or two
No there is nothing that I wouldn’t do just to be with you
Don’t wanna wait another minute cos the moment might be lost and gone
Cos pretty baby here and now is all we ever got going on
Yeah one good moment deserves another
Let the chain be unbroken my beautiful lover
Love is the driver, love is the glue
The deep-sea diver that gets you through
And there is nothing that I wouldn’t do just to spend an hour or two
No there is nothing that I wouldn’t do just to be with you
Don’t wanna wait another minute cos the moment might be lost and gone
Cos pretty baby here and now is all we ever got going on
Please don’t let your past run your future
It won’t suit you in the here and now
If let your past run your future
It won’t suit you in the here and now
Moment of love now, moment of love,
This beautiful moment, moment of love
